Helicase

This is a class of enzymes which are vital to all organisms. They are motor proteins which move along the DNA chain between the two strands. They separate the strands (using ATP) and unwind them so that DNA or RNA polymerase can replicate or transcribe. This is just one of the fancy proteins that must assist in the duplicating or copying of information in DNA.
